You'll be fascinated by the exhibits at the Historical Museum and Catechna Indian Village of Grifton, NC...and the whole experience is FREE!
From tools, office and shop equipment to home furnishings, textiles and toys, the Grifton Museum has something of interest for everyone. Visit the American Indian artifacts exhibit, as well as the Indian Village across the street. Learn about John Lawson, North Carolina's first Surveyor -General and his connection with this area. Learn about the importance of the Contentnea Creek to the vitality of the area. Civil War artifacts and maps are also on display.

For the paddling enthusiast, the museum is located across from the NC Wildlife Resources boat ramp and beside the reconstucted Catechna Indian Village.

Visit the museum store and pick out a book to further explore something you have discovered. You can also purchase a logo T-shirt and visit with the friendly staff.
